RAINBOWS AND LOLLIPOPS and THE TRIBUTE were originally created as part of a larger project/challenge for the writers at WNEP to produce short works that could be performed within the confines of a home. The HOME THEATER PROJECT was an attempt to truly take theater to the people…and be able to perform it in your very living rooms.
We’ve moved the living room to a blackbox studio.
RAINBOWS AND LOLLIPOPS by Dave Goss
Dave is an actor, writer, and the Managing Director of WNEP Theater. He lives on the north side of Chicago with his wife and two daughters, and, since you asked, he’ll have a Maker’s on the rocks.
THE TRIBUTE by Rebecca Langguth (Director of RAINBOWS AND LOLLIPOPS)
Rebecca is a long-time WNEP company member and is exhausted. She’s wearing several hats for this production, so if there’s something you love, it’s because the actors, writer and crew worked hard to made it happen. If there’s something you don’t, blame Rebecca. She’s the producer and that’s her job. She is unemployed (so, if you hear of anything…) She has a dog. She is luckier than most. If she only had one piece of advice to give you, it would be to drink Tito’s Handmade Vodka and maybe, just maybe, look at the world through the eyes and experience of someone else every once in a while. Yeah. That’s the ticket.
Amanda Rountree (Director of THE TRIBUTE)
Amanda started her theater career in 1992. She relocated to Chicago in 2007 from Seattle where she was a performer and instructor with Unexpected Productions and a performer and co-artistic director of Playback Theater Northwest. She is a resident teaching artist with Lifeline Theatre and The Second City Training Center. She has directed for Theatre Momentum, The 365 Sketches Project, and FrankenRegan. There is limited seating and only 8 performances, and you won’t want to miss these two in action!
